Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of the Republic of Mari El, Artistic Director of the Mari State Opera and Ballet Theater

Graduate of the Moscow Choreographic School. Premier of the Bolshoi Ballet of Russia (1992- 2004), choreographer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of the Republic of Mari El, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Mari El. 

In 2006, he was awarded the prize of the Ballet magazine «Soul of Dance» in the nomination «Knight of Dance». Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts has included his name in the annual directory «Who is Who: The Russian Edition» published by the Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts. 

In 1999, he headed the ballet troupe of the Mari State Opera and Ballet Theater named after E. Sapaev and created the Mari Ballet School. Since 2001 — Artistic Director of the Mari Opera and Ballet Theater. Konstantin Ivanov is a highly professional choreographer, he harmoniously combines knowledge and respect for the traditions of classical Russian ballet and a skillful search for new artistic forms. He is the author of several creative Russian and international projects, the organizer of prestigious opera and ballet festivals with the participation of Russian and world–class stars, actively participates in the socio-political life of the country. In 2017, Konstantin Ivanov was appointed Minister of Culture, Press and Ethnic Affairs of the Republic of Mari El. 

Since 2023 — Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mari El — Minister of Culture, Press and National Affairs of the Republic of Mari El.
